We are overwhelmed by your heartwarming response to our last update, the coffee and donuts story, which captured the year that was. Thank you for that! We truly hope you have equally liked the small new year gift that we have sent out to you recently.

This time, we want to talk about something very, very special – belief. The short and sweet six letter word makes the world go around. It is belief that your customers put in you, and you put in us, which enables us to do something purposeful.

Without further ado, we want to share what belief has brought us –

1. The scale – the Government of Maharashtra has entrusted us with skilling youth in the state. We have just entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra State Skill Development Society to train 25,000 young women and men. The State Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will support this vocational training under our popular SMART programme. Read the full story on this development.

Sri Vijay Waghmare (CEO, MSSDS) and Sri SS Sandhu (Principal Secretary, MSDE, Govt of Maharashtra) sign the MoU with the Foundation’s Vijay Wavare and Jegan Tharmaraj

2. The means – We have just earned a registration under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act or FCRA. This means, that we will now be eligible to raise financial support for our work from institutions outside India. This also puts us in a position to now consider some very kind requests from friends, who we have had to decline despite their keen interest in supporting us.

3. The opportunities – After a long, meticulous process, we have obtained an affiliation with the Capital Goods Skill Council (CGSC), which immediately puts the courses that we offer under the SMART technical programme, in line with the government’s programme, and entitles the students to be awarded a government-recognized certificate. This will go a long way in helping them find and grow in their jobs as technical experts in various fields.

You would appreciate that the teams conducting the due diligence on behalf of the government in all the three organizations were extremely happy with the work that we’re doing, and have committed a sustained, long term support in all possible forms.

Belief, as we see it, is made of glass. It is beautiful and delicate, and hence, comes with far more responsibilities that one can imagine. That said, we are hopeful of living up to it – their belief in us, your belief in us, the children’s and the youth’s and, of course, our own in us.

Together, we will Rise!
